[dropcap]D[/dropcap]aniel Wroughton Craig is a famous English actor, born on 2nd March, 1968 in Chester, England. Daniel was brought up in Prescott situated near Liverpool. He did his studies in Hilbre High School, West Kirby. He played various roles like Romeo & Juliet, Oliver, Cinderella, and so on, during his school days.

One of the hardest things that he had to do was the move to London to join the National Youth Theatre at the age of 16. To pay for the courses he pursued there, he had to work at a number of jobs; he understood that if he did not give it a hundred percent, success would never be his. So he not only worked to pay for the course but he also had to be vigilant and ever ready during his classes over there or else he would never have been successful.

He secured a place at Guildhall, School of Music and Drama later on. Craig was the first Bond actor who was born after the Bond series started. Daniel Craig is the shortest actor, playing the role of James Bond though being pretty tall standing at 5 feet, 11 inches.

He did three-year course under the tutelage of Colin McCormack and graduated in 1991. He is also one of the actors from the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company. He got married to Scottish actress Fiona Loudon (1992) and they got their daughter “Ella Craig” in 1992. This year was special to Daniel Craig since he made his appearance in “The Power of One” film.

Early February 2005, Craig was named by the media as a competitor for replacing Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. He availed worldwide fame when selected as the sixth actor for playing the role of James Bond 007 in the official series. He played a role of British secret agent James Bond 007 in his first film of “Casino Royale” which was globally released in theatres on November, 2006. He concentrated more to bring “emotional depth” to the specific character.

A huge reason why he has been very successful is that he is very humble about winning such huge amount of roles; he never let success get the better of him. For a man such as him it would have been very easy to let his consistent successes blind him to his downfall.

He has won many awards like British Independent Film Variety Award (2007), Empire Award (2007) for the movie Casino Royale (2006), Sant Jordi Award (2007), Britannia Award (2012), and Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards (2013) for the movie Skyfall (2012).
